Breaking: furlough scheme extended again - this time until the end of April 2021

The Chancellor has just announced a further extension to the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.

According to this press release, the government wants to provide business with 'certainty' and has decided to extend the scheme until 30 April. It has also said that organisations won't be asked to contribute towards the furlough costs of their staff from February (something the government was considering) and the eligibility criteria will remain unchanged.

Our complete guide to the furlough scheme is available here.
