New ways of working

An interesting blog has been released by Savills this week highlighting the new ways in which we are working. The report suggests that 40 percent of the UK workforce will be freelancers or "solopreneurs" by 2020.

London is leading the way with a significant rise in the number of serviced offices in prime business locations. As reported by Thomas Eggar earlier this week, the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 has also been amended to encourage business by allowing landlords to permit tenants to use their homes as business premises without the risk of acquiring security of tenure rights.

It will be interesting to watch these new ways of working continue to grow, leading to new opportunities for landlords in the future.
